Send or follow a heads up about a possible drop
See a line forming, or hear a vendor is on the way? A heads up lets others decide whether to take the chance. It shows as a possible drop, never as a live one.
What a heads up is
Sometimes you see signs of a drop before anything is on the shelf: people lining up, or staff saying the vendor is coming today. A heads up says something might happen here, so others can decide whether to head over. It shows on the map as a possible drop, never as a live one, and it’s marked Not confirmed yet.
If stock is already out, report a drop instead. If the store already has a live drop of that collectible, the form offers Update the drop rather than sending a heads up.
Send one
Tap Heads up on a store’s page, or Heads up? when you start Report a drop at a store (before you’ve entered anything for the report). Nothing is shared until you tap Send heads up.
- Choose what’s happening: Line forming (people are lining up before anything’s out) or Vendor expected (a vendor is coming or setting up, or staff said stock is coming today).
- Choose the collectible, or leave it as Any. A Pokémon vending machine only offers Pokémon.
- For a line, a line needs you at the store, and you can add how long it is. For a vendor, pick when they’re expected around, in the store’s time today (or Not sure), and how you know: Saw it, Staff or vendor told me, or Heard from someone.
- Optionally add a note, a photo from the in-app camera, and Send anonymously. Your note shows to others once it’s checked.
- Tap Send heads up. Heads up sent confirms it’s on the map. You can have one open heads up per store at a time.
Sending from away
A line can only be sent from the store; away from it, the form says Go to the store to send a heads up about a line. A vendor heads up can come from anywhere, but from away it shows as Heard about it unless you saw it yourself.
On the map and the store page
Possible drops show as dashed amber rings at the store, with no pulse, below live drops. Tap one to open the store. To hide them, turn off Heads ups in Map filters; they’re also hidden while Live drops only is on.
The store page shows a Heads up card: what might happen and for which collectible, when it was sent, when a vendor is expected, the line, how many people see it too, Heard about it or Photo checked when they apply, and the note.
What others can do
I see it too backs it up and keeps it up longer. It’s happening opens Report a drop with the store, collectible, kind of drop and line filled in for you to check, then send. Any matching drop that starts at the store marks the heads up as right, even if nobody tapped the button, and the card then says This heads up was right with See the drop.
False alarm is for members at the store who find nothing; two of them close it. You can report a heads up from the card’s ⋯ menu if something’s wrong with it.
Your own heads up
Your card says how long it stays open and whether your note is showing yet. Tap It’s happening when the drop starts, or Withdraw to take it off the map and the store page for everyone. It also closes by itself after a while, and never stays past the store’s closing time.
Your heads ups from the last 30 days are under Your heads ups in My reports, marked Open, Was right, False alarm, Expired or Withdrawn. Tap one to open the store, or the drop if it was right.
Get alerts for heads ups
Heads ups only alert people who ask. Turn on Heads ups (possible drops) in an alert rule, or for a saved store on its store page or in Alerts → Watching. The alert checkup card also offers Also tell me about heads ups. All are off until you turn them on.
These are normal notifications, never Time Sensitive, and they never offer Heading there. You won’t get a flood of them for one store, and never one about your own heads up. When a heads up you sent, or said you see too, turns out right, Alerts tells you: Your heads up was right.
Credit and privacy
When your heads up turns into a real drop that someone else backs up, you get credit for it, like a confirmed tip. A false alarm doesn’t cost you anything, but please only send what you actually saw or were told.
A heads up shows the store, never where you were. It shows your handle unless you send it anonymously. A photo stays private like every verification photo and is deleted after 7 days.
