Create or edit an alert rule

Choose what, where, when, and how certain a drop should be before it alerts you.

Build a rule

Open Alerts → Rules. Tap a card under Start with one of these (Quick add once you have rules) to add a ready-made alert in one tap, or add your own: the rule reads as a sentence, such as Tell me when Pokémon restocks at Target or Walmart within 10 mi of Home, and each highlighted word opens its own choices. If you have no alerts yet, Finish your first alert asks where “near” is for you and starts you with drops around it: use your location or Set Home. If location is off for Drop Radar, Set Home instead, or allow location in Settings. The list shows how many alerts you have out of the maximum.

  1. Choose collectible categories or specific products and any drop types you want.
  2. Choose the stores for this rule: tap the highlighted store choice, such as any store, and select retailer chains or specific locations. Older Android versions show Retailers and store search as separate sections instead.
  3. Choose where the rule applies: within a distance of a saved place or your location, specific stores, or, in the latest version, one or more whole states. A map previews the area; check it before saving.
  4. Choose a time window and minimum confidence that fit how early you want to hear. Turn on Heads ups (possible drops) if you also want to hear when someone says a drop this alert matches might happen; it’s off by default, and these are never Time Sensitive.
  5. Name the rule and choose delivery options, including its sound, which you can preview, and optional Time Sensitive setting. If Time Sensitive is off for your account, the editor says so and offers Turn on Time Sensitive. Save it. When you open an existing rule and change nothing, the button reads Done and simply closes.

Choose chains or exact locations

For Target-only alerts, select Target in the rule’s store choices and leave other chains unselected. Set Pokémon as the collectible if that is what you want to follow.

Chain rules cover the chosen area. Specific-store rules cover just those selected locations instead of an area. State rules cover every matching store in the states you pick, for example all Pokémon restocks in Florida. For a single city, use a distance around a saved place in that city. Your map’s Stores and state filters do not change your alert rules.

Adjust without deleting

Edit a rule when its scope is too broad. Duplicate a rule, from its swipe actions or by touching and holding it, to start a similar one without retyping it. Disable or pause it when you do not need it; delete it only when you no longer want it, and confirm when asked. Other rules or watches can still alert you about the same store.

Map filters do not rewrite rules

A store hidden by your current map filters can still match a saved alert rule. Use the alert’s explanation to find the condition that actually triggered it.
