Set an area for alerts

Open Alerts → Rules and, under Set up, tap Places. Add Home, Work, or a custom place: pick the spot on the map, use your location, or search for a store. Set its default distance (2, 5, 10, 25 or 50 mi chips). Use a name that helps you recognize it later.

A rule using your current location uses the location captured when you save it. Do not assume it continuously follows you on a road trip. Revisit its area when you want to hunt somewhere else.

A saved place can be used by rules. Check the rule list when changing or removing it so your intended areas remain covered. Your saved alert places are not public location-sharing features.
