Alerts & notifications
What happens after I report a drop?
Find your own report and understand why a submission may not create a nearby drop or notify everyone.
First, find your saved report
Submitting saves your observation for the store you chose. On iPhone, open Profile and scroll to My reports; tap the report to see its photo check and result. On Android, use your report history from the reputation area. Your report history and Nearby drops are different lists.
Why it may not appear in Nearby drops
Nearby drops shows matching map activity, not every submitted report. The app combines evidence, freshness, and follow-up reports. An off-site tip has less influence than a nearby report, and a photo that could not be verified does not add verified-photo support. One submission may not establish an active drop.
Check the selected store, map area, and active filters too. No active drop does not mean your observation was lost or that the store definitely has no stock. Read the report’s How it counts explanation and its result for the distinction.
Who gets an alert?
A report does not broadcast to everyone nearby. A meaningful drop update can notify members whose enabled alert rules match, or who have an active watch for that store or product.
Rules can match the area, collectible or product, time, and minimum confidence. In How sure, choose Even rumors, Likely or better, or Confirmed only.
A store watch can notify you about meaningful changes independently of a rule’s confidence choice. Repeated updates can be limited to avoid duplicate alerts, and updates when a drop winds down or ends only come if you turn them on in Settings → Notifications.
Submitting a report does not subscribe you, and you never get an alert about a change your own report caused, even if your rule or watch matches. You still hear when someone else’s report updates that drop. To follow a location, watch it; to cover an area, create an alert rule.
An inbox item and a phone ping are different
An alert can appear in Alerts without making a sound or appearing on your phone. Push delivery also depends on your notification choices, device registration, permission, quiet hours, and system settings. Open Why did I get this alert? on an alert to see which rule or watch matched.
Still need a hand? Open the ? on the map for in-app help, or contact support.
