Reports & photos

A photo could not be verified

Read the reason on the photo result, then check location, timing, framing and readability.

Check the reason shown

The photo result on the receipt, its alert in Alerts and Profile → My reports say why a photo wasn’t verified. Common reasons: it wasn’t taken at the selected store, Send was tapped more than a minute after it was taken, the connection was too weak for it to finish sending within 15 minutes, the products or receipt weren’t clear enough, or the receipt wasn’t from today’s visit. A photo that isn’t verified doesn’t mean you were dishonest, and your report still counts normally.

If the result says we couldn’t confirm the photo was taken with the Drop Radar camera, update the app and try again.

Photo not sent

After Send, your photo retries on its own when a connection is available, for up to 15 minutes. If it can’t get through in time, retrying stops. When the app or its background task can run again, it removes the waiting photo and shows Photo not sent. Signing out also removes it. Your report still counts; an empty shelf check is saved as an unconfirmed tip. If the report could no longer take a photo, the message says so. There’s no need to tap retry: retrying is automatic.

Improve the next attempt

  1. Check that the selected store and its address are correct. Nearby mall stores can share very similar locations.
  2. Allow precise location in your phone settings if available. Wait for a better fix; poor indoor reception can reduce accuracy.
  3. Get the products, shelf tags, limit sign or empty shelves clearly in frame. For a receipt, lay it flat and make the store, date and items readable. Reduce glare and use a closer, steady shot.
  4. Take the image in the verification camera and tap Send before its countdown runs out. You don’t need to wait for the upload to finish.

If the pin is wrong

Do not choose a neighboring store just to pass the distance check. Submit a pin correction in Help center. If verification keeps failing with a correct pin and clear evidence, report a bug with the approximate time, store, and message shown. Avoid sharing your private verification image as a public post just to troubleshoot it.

Understand the result

A photo that does not support the update does not contribute photo-backed evidence. How it counts reflects the accepted report and its latest photo result. You can still share an honest observation without pretending a verification succeeded.
