Manage camera, location, photos, and notification permissions
Allow only the device features you need and change them later in system settings.
Location
Location helps center the map, order nearby stores, plan a route, and support an in-store report. You can browse a chosen area without making it proof of where you are. For a verification photo, the app needs a usable current location near the selected store.
On the latest version, Drop Radar needs location turned on to use the app; approximate location is enough, and your exact location is never shown to anyone. When you report from a store, it asks for precise location so your report and photo can count as in-store. Updates may reach iPhone and Android at different times.
Camera and photos
The verification camera needs camera permission and takes a new picture; photos from your library can never be used for verification. If camera access is turned off, Report a drop, quick updates and Empty shelves show Open Settings so you can allow it. An empty shelf check can still be sent without a photo. Social posts and binders can use their separate camera or library pickers. Allowing one does not make every image in your photo library public.
Notifications and trip features
Notification permission is required for phone alerts, Nav’s trip notifications and, on Android, the Heading there notification. Supported trip companion features can need additional permissions, which the app explains when you use them. Declining notification permission does not make the in-app inbox a public feed.
Change a choice
Open your phone’s settings for Drop Radar to review denied or limited permissions. If a control says Open Settings, use it to reach the system page. The app cannot override a system-level denial. Restart the affected flow after changing the permission if it does not refresh immediately.
What if I turn location off?
Drop Radar needs location to work. If location is off or permission is denied, the app shows a screen that explains why, with a button to turn it back on. If you decline precise location when reporting, your report or stock update counts as a tip with less influence. Photo verification needs a usable location near the chosen store; selecting that store on the map does not satisfy the check.
Microphone and speech
Nav can use your phone’s speech recognition to fill the route-request field. It listens only after you tap the microphone; tap again to stop. Review and send the text yourself. Recognition availability, languages, and whether audio is processed on the device or by the speech provider depend on your phone and its settings. Drop Radar sends the route-request text when you submit it; it does not upload a separate voice recording.
