Routes with Nav

Start and manage a Nav trip

Review your route, hand off directions, and mark progress as you visit stores.

Start with a review

Confirm the route summary, then tap Nav It. Drop Radar hands directions to your maps app; it does not provide its own turn-by-turn driving instructions.

Choose your maps app once under Drive with, and change it later from the route card or the Nav It confirmation. On iPhone, Apple Maps and Google Maps take your whole route. On Android, Google Maps takes your whole route, up to 10 stops at a time (4 when it opens in your browser), and Drop Radar hands you the rest when you get there; Waze or another maps app goes one stop at a time. Supported route handoffs can vary by maps app and operating-system version.

Use the trip companion

While a trip is running, a trip bar on every tab shows your next stop; tap it to return to Nav. Mark I’m here when you arrive, Skip a stop, or Remove one from the trip; later stops have the same controls. Use Restore to bring back a stop you skipped or removed by mistake.

When Nav sees you arrive, You made it offers Report a drop here and Nav It to the next stop. Nav It names the stop it opens, such as Nav It to stop 3 of 5, or Nav It home when your route returns to the start.

Watch for timing changes

Nav can warn that a store may close before you reach it, during the trip and as an alert with Remove it and Keep. Review the warning and choose whether to remove or keep the stop. Stop and interact safely; do not manage reports while driving.

Your trip outside the app

On iPhone, the trip appears as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island when Live Activities are allowed. On Android, it appears as an ongoing trip notification with your progress, the time to your next stop, any closing-time warning, and Nav It with I’m here and Skip (or Next stop while you’re at one); on Android 16 it can appear as a Live Update. Your equipped Live Activity theme colours it on both. Some of these need the latest app version.

While a trip is active, Nav keeps following it when you switch to your maps app, so it can notice when you reach or leave a stop. On Android, this runs under the trip notification with the location permission you already gave, and stops when the trip ends. When Nav sees you arrive while Drop Radar isn’t on screen, a You’re at alert offers Report a drop here, which opens a report for that store, and the next Nav It. Tapping the alert or either button clears it. Keep notifications and location allowed for these features.

Finish the run

Use End trip when you’re done or Cancel trip to stop without finishing. When you finish at your last stop and the route doesn’t drive back, Nav celebrates and keeps a Route complete summary until you tap Done; Nav It then plans a new trip.

A trip you end on another device, or one that expires, closes on this phone too and moves to History. Saved routes and trip history are separate, so ending a trip does not remove a route you saved.
